Since 2018, Storebrand Asset Management has worked in cooperation with Iceland Funds, a subsidiary of Íslandsbanki. Under this arrangement, institutional investors have been given the opportunity to invest in Storebrand funds, including its green funds. Storebrand’s objective now, in cooperation with Íslandsbanki, is to draw the public’s attention to and pique their interest in sustainable investments.
Storebrand Asset Management is the largest privately run asset management firm in Norway, with over EUR 84bn under management. Storebrand is also at the forefront of the Nordic market for pension savings and general savings based on sustainable investments. For over a quarter-century, Storebrand has invested in social projects on behalf of its customers within and outside the Nordic region.
The funds now available to Icelandic investors through Íslandsbanki are as follows:
- Storebrand Global ESG Plus, a carbon-free mutual fund specialising in fossil-free investments (i.e., outside fossil fuel-reliant sectors) and investments that satisfy environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.
- Storebrand Global Solutions, an international mutual fund investing in companies that have clear sustainability goals and, in the Bank’s assessment, are well positioned to meet the challenges entailed in the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Storebrand Global Indeks, an index-aware mutual fund whose aim is to achieve returns comparable to those on the global stock market, as measured by the fund’s reference index.
