What can be done at ATMs

There is no need to carry the card with you when you do your business at our ATMs.

By logging in with an electronic ID (rafræn skilríki), you can now:

  • Withdraw up to ISK 500,000. from a bank account in ISK
  • Deposit into all your own accounts in ISK at Íslandsbanki in Hafnarfjörður, Reykjanesbær, Laugardal, Norðurturni, Kringlunn, Selfoss, Akranesi, Akureyri, Húsavík and Vestmannaeyjum (Note ATM opening hours)
  • Withdraw currency USD, EUR, GBP, PLN in Norðurturni, Laugardal, Hafnarfjörður, Reykjanesbær and Akureyri
  • See the balance of your own accounts at Íslandsbanki
  • Pay unpaid bills to your own social security number
  • Transfer
  • Add to GSM freedom with a debit card

However, it is not possible to withdraw from credit cards using electronic IDs.

By debit card:

  • Withdraw up to ISK 300,000. in ISK

By credit card:

  • Withdraw according to the card's withdrawal authorization at an ATM.
